A retired pensioner Avraam Koichman lives in a small one-bedroom
apartment together with his wife and son. The apartment is their
property, but it needs repairs for which they have no money, neither
have they money for its maintenance.
The family lives on very small pensions of Avraam and his wife
Ella. Their son Vladimir, though he has engineering background,
can find no job, because of a complicated economic situation and
high rate of unemployment in Moldova.
Avraam received some humanitarian aid – such new clothes
as a coat and a cap. He is in high spirits thanks to a chance to
update his old wardrobe.
He is saying, “It is always difficult to buy any clothes
like that, as the cost of a coat is equal to pension of mine. Lately
more humanitarian aid from abroad comes to Moldova. It is an invaluable
support.” |
Alex lives with his parents and older sister in
an old half- destroyed apartment of one room. The only income is
the father’s salary of $120.
The family lives in extremely poor financial conditions and their
income can hardly cover utility services and basic foods. The family
cannot afford good nutrition and vitamins for the child.
The cost of a childrens coat or a pair of sweaters equals a family
monthly income.
Alex is happy trying on his new cap and back bag. He says: “Am
I a handsome boy? “ His mother is also happy and asking to
express her big gratitude to the sponsors for their help. |
